Alec Keeler, an expert in best practice with regards to fall prevention and tanker loading in terminals and process plants, is the Managing Director of Loadtec Engineered Systems Limited.

Loadtec Engineered Systems Ltd is a leading supplier of bespoke systems for filling and emptying liquid tankers and providing means of safe access for operators working on them. With Alec's 33 years of experience and a collective 100 years within the company, Alec and his team certainly know a thing or two about how to load and empty tankers.

Prior to starting up Loadtec in 1996, Alec worked for OPW Engineered Systems as a Regional Manager and also spent a fair amount of time working for Emco Wheaton, firstly as a Sales Engineer and then as Global Marketing Manager. Alec’s early career was with Babcock & Wilcox (now known as Babcock Power) where he trained as an Engineer.

Alec holds an MBA specialising in Marketing.

Alec is a keen walker/trekker and photographer in his free time. He has raised money for charities like The British Lung Foundation and Young Lives Foundation by climbing Mont Blanc - the highest mountain in the Alps - and Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Many of the photographs on the Loadtec website are courtesy of Alec and he is often seen out and about with his camera on his business trips.

"Horizon Terminals Limited is an independent bulk liquid storage company with 6,676,400 m3 of total storage capacity, with Terminals owned and operated in Africa, Middle East and South East Asia. We have a diverse portfolio of products and are handling these across marine, truck and rail loading infrastructure.

Alec Keeler Manging Director of Loadtec conducted an educational talk at the StocExpo MEA 2017 in Dubai, at our ‘HTL Innovation Theatre’ for Technical, Maintenance and Project Managers from across our Terminals and Parent company ‘ENOC’. The educational talk provided a structure which was concise, logical and effective for solutions for working at height and product loading/unloading. Alec has a lot of underpinning knowledge of the subjects, and has clearly designed and developed bespoke solutions for Loadtec with thought and expertise.

The benefits from having Alec presenting allowed us to not only understand the solutions that Loadtec can provide but the inherent safety risks and dangers that we Horizon Terminals Limited face when working at height and loading/unloading vessels, road tankers and rail cars. HTL now have the fundamental knowledge to allow personnel to go back to their operations and assess the safety hazards associated with working at height and product loading/unloading, and be able to have workable solutions to mitigate these risks.

HTL looks forward to working with Alec in the future for his expertise and knowledge in the field. We also believe that Loadtec can provide smart, neat and efficient solutions which will meet our operational and business demands."
